1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cups apple juice
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons mustard of choice
1 tablespoon chile powder
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pork pork butt
3 onions, cut into halves
1. Place the onion slices in the bottom of a Crock Pot. Sprinkle the pork with the salt, pepper and garlic powder, then place it on top of the onions. add the brown sugar to the liquid and stir.
2. Put on the lid, set the Crock Pot to LOW and cook for 10 to 13 hours. Longer the better When it's done, the pork will be dark and weird and wonderful. It'll also be fork-tender. That's when you know it's done.
3. Remove the meat from the Crock Pot and shred completely. Drain the Crock Pot. Return the meat to the Crock Pot and add your favorite sauce keep in the sauce until ready to serve.
