Sausage White Gravy

Ingredients:

1 lb reg. breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled, don’t drain

2 tbl real butter or veg. oil, or bacon grease

2 1/2 tbl all-purpose flour

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup half & half milk

a dash of garlic powder or to taste

salt/black pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. 1. Remove cooked sausage from skillet and cover in oven safe dish to keep warm in 200° oven.
  2. 2. Scrape bottom of skillet. Heat skillet again and add butter/oil while scraping skillet.
  3. 3. Add flour and continue stirring/whisking constantly on med/high heat. Add seasonings and both milks gradually while whisking until smooth.
  4. 4. Pour any juices from sausage dish into gravy and blend with crumbled sausage. Simmer on low about ten minutes.
