Ingredients:
2 c all-purpose flour (biscuits)
1 tbs baking powder (biscuits)
1 tsp salt (biscuits)
1 tbs white sugar (biscuits)
1/3 c shortening (biscuits)
1 c milk (biscuits)
some bulk sausage
a little bacon
milk
salt and pepper to taste
1 egg
Directions:
- 1. Preheat oven to 425. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually stir in milk until dough pulls away from the side of the bowl.
- 2. Turn out onto floured surface and knead just a few times. Pat or roll out to about 1" thick.
- 3. Cut biscuits with large cutter or glass dipped in flour, and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- 4. Bake for 13-15 minutes in preheated oven or until edges begin to brown. Then brush tops with butter. They raise nice and fluffy.
- 5. Fry some bulk sausage in with a little bacon and egg grease until browned really good, in cast iron skillet.
- 6. Sprinkled flour over it, stirring till blended well. Added milk, slowly, while stirring, until thickness. Salt and pepper to taste. Add the egg also fried on cast iron flat top.
