5 medium russett potatoes (peeled and cut into sections)
1 med onion (chopped in chunks)
water (just enough to cover potatoes and onions)
1/2 tsp salt and pepper
1 tsp onion powder
4 tablespoon real salted butter
1 quart of milk
1. First peel and cube your potatoes and onions then cover with water and cook till potatoes are tender. (Do not drain).
2. To thicken you can lightly mash the potatoes and onions in the water (do not drain) leaving chunks.
3. Add in your milk, put in about 2 inches above the potato line. Put in the seasonings and butter and stir. Stove on low and let simmer for about 5 min.
4. You may need to add salt and pepper to your liking once you put it in the bowl.
