1 pound lean beef cubed
3-4 large sticks of celery sliced
5-6 carrots sliced
2 med onions diced
1 cup of barley (quick or med)
2 cans of stewed tomatoes
1 package of Lipton beefy onion soup
2 beef cubes
pepper
garlic powder
parsley
1. Put the lean cubed meat in the stock pot you will be using for the soup. Add: 2 beef cubes, pepper, garlic powder and a little water (about 1/2 cup).
2. Cook the meat (med high-high) – don’t let the water run dry.
3. When the meat is cooked- add about 8-10 cups of water, and let “slow” boil for 1 hour. Keep same level of water – add as needed.
4. Add parsley, package of Lipton, onions, carrots, celery. Let these “slow” boil for 45 min – 1 hour.
5. Add 2 cans of tomatoes and barley. Let “slow” boil for about 1/2 hour.
