2.5 - 3 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup root beer soda
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
optional, for serving: sandwich rolls; coleslaw; additional barbecue sauce
1. Place chicken in bottom of a large slow cooker that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Season with salt, garlic powder, and pepper on all sides.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, root beer, and Worcestershire sauce.
3. Pour sauce over chicken.
4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours.
5. Remove chicken from slow cooker and place on a cutting board. Shred the chicken with two forks, return to the slow cooker, and stir to combine with the sauce.
