1 (large) chicken, cut up
1 cup (packed) brown sugar
2/3 cup vinegar
1/4 cup lemon-lime soda, 7 UP or Sprite
3 tbsp. (less if desired) minced garlic
2 tbsp. lite soy sauce
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1. Place chicken pieces in the crock pot or Slow cooker.
2. Combine remaining ingredients in a bow, stirring to blend well; pour over the chicken.
3. Place lid on cooker and cook 6 to 8 hours on low.
4. If you wish to thicken juices to use as a gravy/sauce, mix a small amount of cornstarch with cold water until smooth. Remove chicken from cooker and stir cornstarch mixture into the liquid until smooth.
