Ingredients:

5 whole cloves

1 bay leaf

5 whole allspice berries

2 pounds ground beef

1 6 oz. can tomato paste

2 cups water

2 tbsp. chili powder

1 tsp. ground nutmeg

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

2 tsp. salt

2 tsp. unsweetened cocoa

2 cloves minced garlic

2 chopped onions

1 tbsp. cracked red pepper flakes

2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

1 can kidney beans

Spaghetti

Hot Dogs

grated cheddar cheese

Directions:

1. First 3 ingredients can be thrown right into the pot, or tied off in some cheesecloth for easier removal later. You can also choose to use ground versions. If you do this, use about half as much.

2. Brown ground beef and put in Slow Cooker

3. Add allspice and 1 of the chopped onions (this is when you can tie-off the bay leaf, allspice and cloves)

4. Cook on low for 8 hours

5. If using beans, add during the last 45 minutes of cook time

6. Optional: serve chili over spaghetti and top with fresh chopped onion and cheese

Bon Appetit!
