8 c potatoes
2 c sliced carrots
2 c celery
1 c chopped onion
8 c water
4 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon pepper
8 c scalded milk
½ lb butter
1 c flour
8 c grated cheddar cheese
4 c cooked diced ham
1. Cook potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion in water, add salt and pepper. Cook until vegetables are soft, do not drain, set aside.
2. In a large pot mix together butter and flour.
3. Slowly add scalded milk. Add cheddar cheese and cooked vegetable mixture.
4. Add ham. Do not boil.
