Ingredients:

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 cups apple juice

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons mustard of choice

1 tablespoon chile powder

1 tablespoon paprika

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 pork butt

3 onions, cut into halves

Directions:

1. Place the onion slices in the bottom of a slow cooker. Sprinkle the pork with the salt, pepper and garlic powder, then place it on top of the onions. add the brown sugar to the liquid and stir.

2. Put on the lid, set the slow cooker to LOW and cook for 10 to 13 hours. Longer the better. When it's done, the pork will be dark and weird and wonderful. It'll also be fork-tender. That's when you know it's done.

3. Remove the meat from the slow cooker and shred completely. Drain the crock pot Return the meat to the slow cooker and add your favorite sauce keep in the sauce until ready to serve.
