Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies

Ingredients:

¾ cup dark cocoa

1 1⁄3 cups all-purpose flour

½ tsp baking soda

a pinch of cinnamon

2⁄3 cup un-salted butter, melted and divided

½ cup boiling hot water

1½ cups granulated sugar

2 lrg eggs

1 tsp almond extract or vanilla

¼ tsp salt

1-12 oz. bag hershey’s chocolate chips

6 oz. hershey’s peanut butter chips

Directions:

  1. 1. 375° oven.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine cocoa, cinnamon and baking soda. Blend in 1/3 cup melted butter. Add the boiling water and stir well to blend. Stir in sugar, eggs, and remaining melted butter.
  3. 3. Slowly add flour, vanilla, and salt. Stir in chocolate/peanut butter chips and blend. Pour into a greased or sprayed with Bakers Joy, 9” x 11” glass dish and bake 40 - 45 minutes. Use toothpick to check center for doneness. It should come out mainly dry.
  4. 4. Let cool then cut into squares using a plastic serrated knife to prevent sticking and crumbling.
