1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp water
2/3 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 12-oz packages semi sweet chocolate chips
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
2 cups all purpose flour / plain flour (chocolate layer)
1/2 tsp baking soda (chocolate layer)
1/2 tsp salt (chocolate layer)
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (chocolate layer)
1 cup packed brown sugar (chocolate layer)
1/2 cup white sugar (chocolate layer)
1 tbsp vanilla extract (chocolate layer)
1 egg (chocolate layer)
1 egg yolk (chocolate layer)
2 cups milk chocolate chips (or whatever you prefer) (chocolate layer)
1. To prepare the brownies. Combine dry ingredients excluding sugar in bowl. Set aside. Melt butter with sugar and water on medium heat until it boils. Immediately remove from heat and stir in 1 bag of chocolate chips. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking well. Stir in dry mixture. Add final package chocolate chips, stir. Pour into prepared 9 x 13 pan. Set aside while you make the cookie dough.
2. To preare chcolate chip cookie layer. Sift together dry ingredients excluding sugar. Set aside. Cream together butter and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Slowly stir in dry mixture, then add chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls of the dough on top of the brownie batter.
3. Bake at 325F for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean from the center.
