yellow cake mix (and ingredients according to box)
sugar cookie mix (and ingredients according to box)
brownie mix (and ingredients according to box)
white/vanilla icing
red, yellow and green food coloring
sesame seeds for "bun"
yellow cake mix = buns
brownie mix = patties
colored icing = lettuce, ketchup, and mustard
sugar cookie mix = fries
1. For the Hamburgerю Make yellow cake mix according to box.
2. Fill the individual cupcake holes less than you normally would (about 1/2 way) and bake according to box or until a toothpick comes out clean. Take cupcakes out and let them cool for at least 20 minutes.
3. Prepare brownie mix according to the box. Bake preferably in a 10 x 14 pan so that the brownie patties are thin. While brownies are baking, cut cupcakes in half horizontally.
4. After the brownies are done cooking, let them cool for 30 minutes. Next, divide Icing into three separate mixing bowls. Put yellow food coloring in one, red in another, and green in the last one. Mix and keep adding food coloring until desired color.
5. Once brownies are cooled, cut "patties" with a round cookie cutter or with the rim of a cup to a size similar of the cupcakes. On the bottom half of the cupcake (the bottom bun) squeeze a dot of icing in the center so the patties will stick. Lay the brownie patty on top of the icing.
6. Drizzle the red, yellow and green icing around the top of the patty until you get desired look. Add the top cupcake bun.
7. Now for the finishing touch. Brush a very thin layer of water over the top of the bun or either dab a few drops of water on with your finger. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and they’ll stick.
8. For the Fries. Make the batch of sugar cookie dough. Chill, and then roll out the dough as directed. Cut the dough into strips using a pizza cutter or knife. The strips can be as fat or thin as you want depending on how you want your “fries” to look. Lay the “fries” onto a cookie sheet and set the whole sheet in the freezer for a few minutes (about 5) to chill the dough (this helps the cookies keep their shape when baked).
7. Bake as directed or until golden. Once baked, cool just enough to remove from the baking sheet. While still a bit warm, place cookie “fries” in a shallow baking dish and sprinkle with white sugar (to represent salt).
8. Serve the cookie fries alongside a cupcake hamburger
